BEWARE of unions trying to extend contracts before the March 27 date at which Labor Freedom goes into effect in Michigan! Some unions are giving concessions to extend contracts, decreasing pay and benefits to guarantee more union dues. When the contract is extended before March 27 it freezes members into paying dues for the longer contract term.

What is
Freedom to Work?

The Freedom to Work principle affirms the right of every American to work for a living without being compelled to affiliate with a union. Compulsory union membership or dues in any form contradict the fundamental human right represented by that principle. Every individual must have the right, but must not be compelled, to join or financially support a labor union.
